GATE OF HORROR, Paul Cordova, Av.Guardia Civil #330, Corpac, Lima 27, PERU gateofhorror@yahoo.es ___________________________________________________ * How has been the distribution of "Never mind..."? Hi Paul and the readers. I released, together with other czech activists (EPIDEMIE rcds - epidemie@post.cz; MERCILESS CORE rcds - merciless.core@worldonline.cz & roman.janecka@volny.cz ; PLAZZMA zine - plazzma@centrum.cz), #1000 copies of our 'debut' CD album "Never mind the MSBR, here's the NAPALMED". In the fact it is our second 'debut' full-lenght, because there is "Up to the ears in Tinnitus" recording. This was released as an edition of #100 picture-LP copies on EPIDEMIE rcds. Back to the theme. I spread over 400 copies to zines, mags and webzines all over the world. I think it is a solid portion to make a promotion action. Shit is most of them (not all) are metal/+ oriented and don't know what is noise/industrial all about. Second shit is we still wait for the revies/reactions. No extra distribution is planned. The rest copies are available through my distro. First #100 copies are extra packaged and six pannel-cover is printed on luxus paper. ___________________________________________________ * Is it easy for an ultra noise band to find shows to play in? Mostly we performed on the actions t/w metal/punk/grind bands. We were part of this ug scene in the years `94-`96, but things were changed. I don't look for the live dates, normally people contact me themselves. I think it is much better, as they wanted band as we are and what we do. ___________________________________________________ * And how is the reaction of the people? Reactions are 'strange'. I feel there are better reactions to our live shows than to recordings. People see the process of noise-making, see the feelings of ours. No lies, no playbacks, just streams of energy here and there. ___________________________________________________ * With which song did you contribute in the "Total Rectal Vol 1" Comp? It is 2:50 long track called "Neue (s-mix)". It is two samples rhythm manipulation piece from our unreleased album "Mixes II. & III.". ___________________________________________________ * You also participated in a CD comp made by Empty Chairs, tell us about other Comps that you have participated in.... It isn't a CD comp., but tape. I spread our sounds for the others too. Sometime I'm slow with the contribution because it is hard for me to transfer sound from the MiniDisc to CD-R. A big soory to all who wait for us. Often I received the complete compilation, sometime planned compilation never seen the light of the world. ___________________________________________________ * Is it out the re-release of the split with Merzbow? Re-release edition of 500 copies is out. It has changed colours on the booklet and inlay, and different colour of the CD surface print. Pictures and themes are the same. I spread most of them by trade system, few copies were sold. First edition was released by MERCILESS CORE rcds - merciless.core@worldonline.cz & roman.janecka@volny.cz and co-released by NAPALMED. Repress was completely payed by NAPALMED. ___________________________________________________ * Tell us about the Comp. that you make... It is called ANOMALOUS SILENCER. I started this series in 1996. Each issue is made in the edition of #500 copies by the co-payed/co-distributed system, what means each artist will pay some money and will get 5 copies of full, complete CDs. I guaranteed good production of design and sound of the final product. Many artists asked me to take a part, but most of them ___________________________________________________ * Talking about the songs, what do you wanna express with them? Nothing special, just artistic freedom and my/our creativity if there's any. ___________________________________________________ * Besides Noise, what do you like to hear? Which bands deserve your respect? I think I am open-minded for wide range of audio styles: jazz, electronica, contemporary/classic music, minimalistic, ambient, metal/core/punk/crust, garage rock/pop, industrial/noise, ethno/world, ... ___________________________________________________ * Do you know something about Southamerica noise bands? I don't really care from where a band is. Main thing if I like it or not. ___________________________________________________ * Does Napalmed have a regular line up? For sure. I start the NAPALMED as a normal band. Sometime members were changed a bit, but the four-piece actual core is: Martin Beraxa, Mira Vlcek, Petr Kopecky and me-Radek Kopel. Live shows are performed with all/any of these members, same as "important" recordings. Some "studio" rehearsals are made by me only, but the spirit of full band exists. ___________________________________________________ * Any future plans... No future plans, sorry. Too much work, and less time each day to see back or to the future. We have got many unreleased recordings in the archive, but new experiments are needed and will come. The old are a bit forgotten or???? Also recordings from our live performances are available to be released. ___________________________________________________ * Thanks a lot, anything to add to our readers... Feel free to contact me, ask for actual items for sale/trade, possible colaboration. New artists are welcome for trades, for the ANOMALOUS SILENCER CD compilation, to be distributed here, etc. I could also help to spread tons of flyers as a kind of promotion. Please, stay in touch and communicate on any of my contacts: Radek Kopel Lipova 1123 43401 Most Czech Republic napalmed@volny.cz http://napalweb.host.sk
