1/ Hi Radek! What going on today in Czech Republic?

Hi Nicholas! All is on the right way, here in CZE, except the growing capitalism, bad economy, not too many just some stupid people (such as fascists, etc).

  2/ Did everything goes well with Napalmed these days? What's new?

No problems or troubles at all. Activities are slow, but I try to do things as fast as I can. I record, produce & spread sounds under NAPALMED - band around the globe, sell & trade stuff under Napalmed - distribution, at last release items under Napalmed - label. Distro list is filled with many interesting/unknown names on different formats such as CDs, tapes, vinyls and different styles from metal, punk, core to noise. 

  3/ Let us know more about CZE harsh noise scene!

I'm sorry, but I don't know/think here is any. Some projects here CORRUPTING HARMONY [industrial], INBORN INDOLENCE [industrial], some bands SKROL [sympho industrial], VO.I.D [old industrial] but no scene. There were some projects (NOISE LABORATORY, STEAM SYMPHONY, E.P.S., PIGEON SHIT, ABUSUS MUSICUM) few years ago, but they are not active since then.

  4/ When did you start to be involved into noise? How old are you? Some anecdote which was interesting since this time?

I started listen czech rock (we call it simply "bigbít") music [`83], then I've found metal [`87], but I felt these all were not the right for me. Same situation follow w/ first grindcore [`89]. First bang to my head came when I've heard EINSTUERZENDE NEUBAUTEN's "Kollaps" album and GEROGERIGEGEGE's "Senzuri Monkey Metal Action" 7"EP. I said I want more of these both, so I started my noise way.
I'm 31.
Sorry, but no anecdote right now. I like humor and anecdotes very much, but I don't remember any.

  5/ How many times did you play live since you start & how was it?

NAPALMED was presented on 24 live performances until now. Playing time varied from 5 to 46 minutes. Most of all livers were recorded on audio/video in very good quality, as you could hear on first two ANOMALOUS SILENCER CD-compilations. I plan prepare a one or double CD master with collage of these live sounds. I'll do it, when I'll save some money. I love play live too much. A lot of energy goes out of me. We were using two basses and drums at the beginning, but it was too musical, so we stopped them. Now we use only metals, woods, plastix, pedal effects, mix-board, different mics, etc. All standard noise equipment.

  6/ Is there any ideology behind Napalmed or its just for the fun of doing noise, release records, etc...?

No ideology, but no fun too. NAPALMED isn't a project or unit only. We started as a band, so I would very like to stay in this position. Only thing I want to deal with sound and near production around is technology in abstract form. No serial killers, no sex, no dark feelings only aural experimentation.

  7/ What do you do outside of the underground? Are you only into noise?

I work as technician/repairer of mass/flow/temperature measurement in the big chemical factory. It's very industrial place, same as Most town, which is modern, but too cold & unhuman. A lot of inspiration there for my underground activities. I'm not into noise only. I like/love music very much. My favourites are jazz, ethno, garage music, -metal, -core, electro artists. At all extreme, fast, brutal, weird sorts of music. No slow, moody, dark types.



  8/ Let us know a bit about your label! Why do you release most of Napalmed (band) records to 100 copy only?

I started NAPALMED label, because of I need mark for my first releases. I was looking for good name, but no idea. So I did it as same titled, but with different logo. I released only few items under catalogue numbers of Napalmed: 1996 CD 001 ANOMALOUS SILENCER; 1997 CD 002 A.S. II.; 1998 EP 003 FOUR SEATS FOR INVALIDES - Livestock; 1998 TS 004 F.S.F.I. - Chemopheles & Mrs. Chemia; 1998 CD 005 A.S. 3.; 1999 MC 006 F.S.F.I./MINDFLAIR). All other items were released outside fo NAPALMED "records".
About 100 copy series. 100 copies is lowest starting amount of release pro-done (cassette, vinyl) stuff in CZE. To do CDs you must order 500 copies minimally. So when we released 7"EPs w/HERMIT, GOVERNMENT ALPHA, MOOD NANAMENICACA, PRAYING FOR OBLIVION or pro-tape w/YGGDRASIL we did them as #100 editions. I know to do lowest amount is much expensive than more copies, but we are limited on money, so the first edition is extra designed or packaged. Following possible represses are produced on black vinyls with simple cover.

  9/ Did you travel a lot or you always stay in Czech Republic?

I don't travel. I have my own family, so I spent my time with them. I would very like to see Japan, because I'm possessed by that land. Of course it would be cool to see some of underground people in the future. I hope I'll save some money and find piece of time for that.

10/ What was the most facinating periode of your existence? Why?

I don't know about that periode. Each new day I can live here on the Earth is interesting to me, I'm surprised by nature each new spring. May be this could be the answer.

11/ Do you know something about canadian noise "scene"? What are your favorite canadian projects?

Yes, I'm in touch with some pals from Canada: of course Eric Boros/HERMIT, Jason Campbell, Jim DeJong/PHYCUS, AMES SANGLANTES,etc. More I know FLATLINE CONSTRUCT, STATIC INSECT, WEIRD VISION (R.I.P.), ...

12/ Did I miss to ask you something? Final words...etc...

I think you miss nothing. I'm sorry about mistakes in my very poor english, no possibilities to practise here.
