NOISE ZEALOT - Preecha Chumkong, Asia Inter rice Co.,ltd, 59 M.5, Bang Kha Nak, Bang Nam Prieo, Cha Choeng Sao, 24150, THAILAND rootsactive666@thaimail.com surlity@yahoo.com ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Greeting RadeK.K. how’s your life now and give us the history of Napalmed (band) to the world? Hi Preecha! I'm fine. NAPALMED exists since the mid `94. I started the band as noise unit, but we did kind of impro-noisy-noise-core, because we used two bass guitars, drums, voice and additionals sounds. We change the instruments through the time for the metal junk, steel garbage, microphones, cheap electronic equipments, pedal effects, etc. Tons of recordings were recorded and released. The newest and actual line-up is: Per Kopecky - weird metals, Mira Vlcek - strange sounds, Martin Beraxa - arrythmic beats, Radek Kopel - manipulations ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Promote your CD 'Never mind the MSBR, here's the NAPALMED' to the reader? I released this album as our official CD debut. #1000 copies were made. All packaged in 6 panel cover, both sides full colour. First 100 copies are packed in luxus paper with plastic mesh w/piece of iron. There are two compositions (15" & 56") of spontaneously improvised industrial/noise on this album. It was recorded live in the rehearsal room, where normally create music metals bands from the Most town. We did the album in complete, new line-up. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. How does the music of Napalmed developed through the year? I learn/know something more (not all) about the sound, we change from the noise-core type to industrial/noise what was the main direction. We became more known in the world ug. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Please describe your other stuff like NAPALMED/MERZBOW - 'Crash of the titans' split CD, NAPALMED - Up to the ears in tinnitus picture LP, NAPALMED/YGGDRASIL split pro-cassette and etc…? NAPALMED/MERZBOW split CD - 74 minutes of intense digilogue harsh noise. Two editions of 500 copies were made. Each with a bit changed cover design. NAPALMED/YGGDRASIL split tape - two editions (each #100). Each copy has different front colour picture. Yggdrasil are from Germany, and make ambient industrial. We put 20 minutes long track of whistling and frequencies - human and machine oscillating. "Up to the ears in tinnitus" - This album from `97 was meant to be our debut album, but it was released in shorten version (with a little differencies) as #100 of picture-LP format on EPIDEMIE rcds (Czech). Martin Cech (owner) planned to do #500 copies, but he was shorten on money. I thing harsh industrial/noise on this vinyl shows our true power. It was recorded in the living room, in the complete old line-up. I hope it will be released in complete version w/bonus track in the future. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. What are the releases of Napalmed label? Could you list them and the detail and prices? 1996 CD 001 - v/a ANOMALOUS SILENCER #500, sold out 1997 CD 002 - v/a ANOMALOUS SILENCER II. #500, sold out 1998 EP 003 - FOUR SEATS FOR INVALIDES - Livestock #500, sold out 1998 TS 004 - FOUR SEATS FOR INVALIDES - Chemopheles and Mrs. Chemia #30, sold out 1998 MC 005 - MINDFLAIR/FOUR SEATS FOR INVALIDES #200, sold out 1998 CD 006 - v/a ANOMALOUS SILENCER 3. #500, sold out 1998 CD 007 - v/a ANOMALOUS SILENCER 4. #500, sold out 2002 CD 008 - Never mind the MSBR, here's the NAPALMED #1000, US$8.- These are the releases under label's numbers, but I release, co-release other items too: ANESTESIA CD, 7" split EPs w/HERMIT, GOVERNMENT ALPHA, PRAYING FOR OBLIVION, MOOD NANAMENICACA, ECHO SYSTEM, ........... Ask for the actual list and prices. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. Do you like going to show? What are the show and the bands that played and you are never forget? I'm not the right person to speak about livers too much. Live shows are great. You can feel absolutely different energy, than on the studio albums. I saw SCORN (Mick Harris' ambient-dub project), MASTER (old-school death-metal-r'n'r from the USA). Both were great, even I though the opposite before the gigs. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7. Tell us something about your live shows? How many girls did you meet in tour? And where is your best show in your opinion? NAPALMED performed once per two months, since the start in the mid `94 about 50 times. Our live industrial/noise improvisations are loud, intense and freaky. Some girls join our concerts, but they get off the club same as many boys, ha-ha! Each live performance is absolutely different, so it's hard to pick up any. We recorded often and I plan to release them in the future. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8. Are you listen to the new album of Napalm Death? What do you think of them? I was freaky fan of NAPALM DEATH (previously fan of AC/DC too). I like their old albums. "From enslavement..." is the best ever for me. I like the great sound production, musical ideas, powerful intensity and at last EXCELENT drum work. New albums are good too, still solid portion of energy there, but I'm a bit bored of still-the-same metal cliches. Superb is "Leaders, not followers" mini CD of cover versions. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9. List your top 10 favorite all time albums? No top 10 as I listen to wide variety of styles, bands and artists. My long-time favourites are for example albums of: SORE THROAT, CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER, DEFECATION, NAPALM DEATH, NUCLEAR DEATH, CARCASS, WEHRMACHT, EXORCIST, OVERKILL, TESTAMENT, QUEENSRYCHE, PAINKILLER, NAKED CITY, WHO, LUCIFER'S FRIEND, URIAH HEEP, METALLICA, same as Neneh Cherry, Yousou N'Dour, Beck, pRINCE, SPOOKY, ALPHAVILLE, DEPECHE MODE, ANAL CUNT, MEAT SHITS, FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD, 7 MINUTES OF NAUSEA, GEROGERIGEGEGE, MERZBOW, japanese & czech uncommercial music scene completely, SCORN, NULL, EXTREME NOISE TERROR, and many, many more. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10. Have you know some thing about to UG scene from South-East Asia? Do you contact with them? Who? To say the truth I don't care too much from where the band or penpal is. The main is I like the communication with them. About 4500 people in my address book from all over the world. I'm in touch with most of them. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 11. Are you listen to Black metal? If yes who? If no why? I don't listen metal last 3-4 years at all. As I wrote in the answer to N.D. Metal sounds really bored to me. I was never a special fan of black metal. If the album is good sounded, some ideas there, not problem to listen it and let my own view. I can named AETERNUS miniCD, out on VIEW BEYOND rcds (Czech) or ADVENT (cool sympho/atmo black), which I found interesting both. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 12. Please recommend us about to UG scene from your country? Are there lot of young and talent bands? Many active people, zines, labels here: SHINDY prod, EPIDEMIE rcds, VIEW BEYOND rcds, AHUMADO GRANUJO, ALIENATION MENTAL, CEREBRAL TURBULENCY, etc. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 13. Who’s the mainly write and lyric the music of Napalmed? And what concept for writes? Nobody writes music, because we make improvisations only. Nobody writes lyrics, because I don't use/sing them. I use my voice only as a instrument. I make a raw concept, atmosphere, prepare equipment and stuff, than we communicate via materials, create sounds, ... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 14. Do you like football? What do you think of World Cup 2002 in Korea Japan? I'm not oriented to sport. I never like to watch footbal, hockey in TV as my father did. It's O.K. to walk a bit, swim, ride the bike, but that's all. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 15. I think this all for now, do you have anything that I don’t ask you? I think it is enough. THANX for your interest, time and space. People could easily ask stuff for trade, or simply communicate w/me on any of the contacts: Radek Kopel, Lipova 1123, 43401 Most, CZECH REPUBLIC, napalmed@volny.cz, http://napalweb.host.sk ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 16.
